The district’s local development information centre, with the equal opportunities unit, the National Council for Women and the Civil Status Authority, ran a photo mission for free national ID cards for women at the El Bakatoshi youth centre on Saturday 29 November 2025.
161 women were photographed for their cards at no charge, to help women who cannot afford the fees, as part of the international “16 Days of Activism against Violence against Women” campaign.
