The district, with the central administration for tourism and resorts, ran awareness campaigns on sorting waste at source and the harm done by bin scavenging, joined by the Red Crescent and civil society groups and by the assistant district head for environmental monitoring and scavenging.
The campaign reached visitors to Gezirat El Dahab beach with advice on sorting waste at source, keeping the beach clean and disposing of rubbish safely.
